I have just re-installed Win2000, and it won't allow me to install any software. It says I don't have access and that I should re-run the installation from an administrator's account. I've tried changing names and also making it unnecessary to type a password (though I seem to still have to), all to no avail.

If you are using it just for file sharing there should be no problem with x64 - If you are going to run data software (like Sql Server) there is also no problem as long as I just can't see installing any more 32 bit systems if I can possibly help it.
