Downgrade to XP
I'm shocked that I don't have the option to install it to other partitions- like EVERY OTHER PROGRAM I've seen in the past 10 years. To HP- please offer me another version of those programs so that I can install them elsewhere on my hard drive. There is no reason why any software HAS to be on the boot partition,

Can't Install External Hard Drive
Having set up the box to query repositories on the internet, I can add thousands of free programs w/o installing any disks. and made functional. There's a learning curve with any software. At our station they use Nexgen 101 (or whatever it's called now.) I can't make heads or tails out of it.

X over the network
Since i've changed the System-Name (with uname -S and SAM -> Networking) i can't install any depot-Software. swinstall says that i should check for id or the SoftwareACLs. I checked these options with a running system, but i can't see any difference. Is there any way out? I recently had a similiar problem.

It works fine when I login as a root, but whenever I tried to use a command like, " rpm -ivh file.rpm" I get an error message like " Operation not permitted." What should I do? Do I have to be a root to install any kind of software? I tried to use " chmod u+rxw file_name", but it did not work out.

Then go to Control Panel, Add/remove programs and remove any software that says anything about your HP printer. Now search your hard drive for files that begin with hp. This way if you need to get this file back for some reason, you won't have to wonder what the original name was or where the file was.
